I managed to find this rare grwphics in the Palo Alto Library a few years ago. Apparently this book is one of the classics of the subject, but I found it surprisingly confusing. This is a remarkable book. Tina rated it it was amazing Jan 15, A Handbook for Data Driven Design.

Bertin died in Paris on 3 May Envisioning Information by Edward R. Still, the insight is in there, and the weaknesses are not too great to stop a determined or required reader. The book is full to bursting with myriad practical tips and tricks regarding not just how, when, and why to cram more information onto the page, but also how to decide what information the reader needs.
